Help Yourself To Happiness
Everybody, everywhere seeks happiness, it’s true, But finding it and keeping it seem difficult to do. Difficult because we think that happiness is found Only in places where wealth and fame abound. And so we go on searching in palaces of pleasure Seeking recognition and monetary treasure, Unaware that happiness is just a state of mind Within the reach of everyone who takes time to be kind. For in making others happy we will be happy, too. For the happiness you give away returns to shine on you. |
The Words to Say I Love You
I was there, yet you did not see Me The times you did cry I wrapped you in My loving arms And wiped the tears from your eyes Every prayer - I heard, and answered Every cry for help - I came I cast down all your enemies And brought them all to shame You are My beloved son Whom I have set free I removed your chains of darkness Because you believed in Me |
God Speaks
So when I looked at those flowers, I was looking at God For they bloomed in His sun And grew in His sod. And each lovely flower was A “voice from above” That whispered a message of Kindness and Love For I feel in my heart, And I know you do, too That God speaks to us all through The kind things we do And when I looked at those flowers I couldn’t help but feel That they brought heaven neare And made God so very real. |
God Garden
God looked around his garden And found an empty place, He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'. It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home |
Three Things I Pray
Oh, dear Lord, three things I pray That you give me more serenity, Wisdom, and love along the way. Blessed Lord Jesus, three things I pray For mental stability, physical strength, And spiritual guidance so I will not stray. Loving Lord Jesus, three things I pray That I will take time to smell the roses, Touch someone's heart, and feel their Love and heartaches along the way. Kind Lord Jesus, three things I pray To see your beauty, hear your songs, And speak of goodness along the way. Holy Lord Jesus, three things I pray That I will worship the Father, Son, And Holy Spirit each and every Day, so I will not stray. Merciful Lord Jesus, three things I pray I will always take your mercy, grace, and Love each and every day. By: Ann Huckabee (c) |
My Parents
My parents taught me well, when I was a child. My parents taught me well, to live and not be wild. My parents took me to sunday school, when I was a child. My parents bought me a bible and I read it for a while. I had a bible in my hand, when I was a child, And put it aside when I grew into a man. I sailed my own way and didn't listen to God's plan. I sinned every day and threw my bible in the sand. I turned my back on God, family and friends. I turned on my parents and found no peace within. My repentance came at last as my mother and daddy prayed. My repentance came at last as my friend prayed, every day. I asked God for forgiveness, his mercy and his grace. I thanked God for his love and thanked Jesus for taking my place. By: Ann Huckabee (c) |
The Thrill Of Trusting God! Oh, the thrill of trusting God, to meet our every need to no longer live in fear or follow where it may lead. Oh, how great is the faith, of the one who doesn’t doubt who stands on the promise God will figure all things out. Oh, how great is His delight, when we give to Him our strife to place in our Master’s hand complete control of our life. Oh, how wonderful is the way, which is paved in sound belief Jesus is the soul’s provider for everlasting peace and relief. Oh, the thrill of trusting God, in everything by prayer to give to Him our every need casting onto Him ~ each care! By: Deborah Ann Belka 3 Crosses by Reece B. Sherman 3 crosses on a skull shaped hill Crucifixion was a cruel way to kill 2 were thieves and deserved what they got One was innocent and he did not He saw the crowd who were witnesses to his death He prayed for their forgiveness with his dying breath The crowd mocked him as he hung up there They cried “save yourself” but they didn’t care The thieves on either side joined in with the crowd “Save yourself and us” they cried out loud Then one of the thieves looked at the man beside him And the hatred in his heart began to dim He realized this was the Lord who was hanging there And although he was dying he felt no despair “Remember me when you enter your kingdom today” “You will join me in paradise” he heard the Lord say He turned to the other thief and said “Don’t you see This man doesn’t deserve to die like you and me” The other thief was not convinced and kept mocking the Lord But the first thief was convinced of his reward 3 men on 3 crosses hung there that day One looked to the Lord and found the way One looked at himself and was filled with hate While one knew that in his hands was mankind’s fate If we were there that day would we join with the crowd And be bloodthirsty and cry insults out loud Or would we see what one thief saw The Lord suffering and dying as we stare in awe We have a choice in which way we see Just as we have a choice in who we will be Would we seek the Lord’s forgiveness or would we deride Which thief would we be, You and I must decide SHOW US THE WAY By: Reece B. God when we feel discouraged And dread the drudge of the day... When life is overwhelming And we feel we’ve lost our way Help us to know your presence And that you are always near And because you are present and powerful There is nothing we need to fear Life has a way of dragging us down But you will lift us up Life Smakes us feel empty inside But you will fill our cup Help us to remember your promise That you will never leave us alone The darkness cannot overcome The light your Son has shone So give us peace and purpose And lean on you each day Because if we are attentive You will show us the way |
Washed
I praise You Lord Jesus, I praise Your name since I met You . . . I’m just not the same. You opened the door, invited me in . . . now I am washed cleansed from my sin. You took this offender, showed me my shame then You forgave me wiped away the blame. Now I am whole, now I am complete oh, how I know . . . we were meant to meet. I praise You Lord Jesus, I praise Your name it’s because of Your grace I am just not the same! By: Deborah Ann Belka John 3:16
by Reece B. Sherman If you have looked throughout the Bible I believe the greatest verse you’ve seen I think you’ll agree with me That verse is John 3:16 Some say it is the Gospel in a nutshell It tells you the most significant thing God has done When he wanted to show the extent of his love He sent his one and only Son He didn’t send new rules and regulations No, that was not his plan Instead he sent his Son in the flesh The divine Son became a man It tells us that he loved the whole world Not just the people who live good lives But it was in a world full of sin In which his Son arrives And John 3:16 promises us eternal life It tells us that this is what we will receive Not because we follow all the right rules But it is because we believe God so loved the world That he sent his only begotten Son This is what John 3:16 Tells us that God has done The Lord knows that we have missed the mark We have let him down time after time Our sins put him on the cross That is history’s greatest crime But God still loves us And John 3:16 tells us to what extent He loved us so much That his only Son he sent So, read the Bible I hope you read it every day But I don’t think you'll find a greater message Than what John 3:16 seeks to convey One day the heavens, will begin to sing . . . their praises to God along with every living thing. One day every nation, and all the people of will worship their Creator for His mercy, grace and love. One day all the sheep, will sing jubilantly their praise to God their Father for the Son He did raise. One day the meek and needy, will stand with the poor and sing their praises to God on heaven’s shore. One day everything, moving or breathing . . . to Jesus their Lord and Savior will forever their praises sing! Revelation 5:13 “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” Copyright 2017 Deborah Ann Belka |
